In 2019, TOPAZ ARTS hosted numerous gatherings for our community including:

  • Hosting Sari-Sari Storybooks and the launch of a Waray children’s book “Sandangaw” in June 2019
  • Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in September 2019 with the Office of New York State Assemblyman Brian Barnwell.
  • “Pinay Visionaries: Celebrating Filipina American Women” -  celebrating Filipino American History Month in October 2019 with The Filipino American National Historical Society – Metro NY.
  • Hosting our local running group Woodside-Sunnyside Runners in celebrating their 10th Year!
Along with these numerous events, we continue to provide space for exhibitions, showings, artist residencies, and affordable rehearsal space. In 2019, we hosted artists in residence, Nicholas Arbatsky, Edisa Weeks/Delirious Dances, Mina Nishimura, Nicky Paraiso, and assisted numerous choreographers in ample rehearsal space.
As TOPAZ ARTS celebrates 19 Years of providing a creative development center for contemporary performance and visual arts, supporting hundreds of artists, dancers, choreographers, locally and internationally, providing affordable space and public events for the community, we look forward to our 20th Year in 2020!
